Conflict is a struggle between two forces. In the book GONE there are several conflicts. One example is Little Pete choked Sam using his powers. This is an example of character v.s. character which makes this an external conflict. This conflict was resolved when Astrid calmed Little Pete down. Another possible conflict that could happen is Cain and Sam could get in a fight using their powers. This would make the book interesting because they are both very powerful.
