A conflict is a struggle between two forces. In the book GONE there are several conflicts.

One example is when Lana is stuck in the desert and she can’t move because she has broken bones. This is an example of character vs. nature, which makes it an external conflict/ I can predict that this conflict will be resolved when Lana learns that she can heal herself and she finds shelter. Another possible conflict that could happen in this book is that the desert animals could mutate and try to attack her and Patrick this would make the book more interesting because the coyotes will move faster and the rattlesnakes will fly. Lana has to find a way to get around them and back to the cabin.
