Stages of Plot

Exposition introduces the characters and setting; reveals possible conflict... The exposition in Catching Fire was when they told us about the districts and all the new characters also when they explain the Quarter Quell Hunger Games.
  Rising action, develops the conflict or struggle ...The Rising action in Catching Fire was when President Snow announced the 75th annual Hunger Games.
  Climax, The stage of greatest interest...The Climax in Catching Fire was when Katniss was put back in the arena and shot the arrow at the dome, which kept all of the people in the arena.
   Falling action, shows how the conflict is resolved...In Catching Fire, the conflict doesn't get resolved.
   Resolution, Reveals the story's final outcome and ties up loose ends.. In Catching Fire, the resolution is Katniss's district, district 12 gets blown up by President Snows command.
