Defying the Capitol

An act of defiance is when someone goes against authority. In the book Catching Fire we see many acts of defiance or rebellion against the Capitol.

Katniss’s act of defiance was taking a training dummy and hanging is and writing Seneca Crane on it. This is defiant because he was head game maker last year.

Peeta’s act of rebellion was saying Katniss was pregnant. This is rebellious because he is trying to make the Capitol people feel bad for her. He also drew a picture of Rue during his training session. This is rebellious because she is a dead tribute.

The tributes act of defiance was the held hands and stood in unity. This is defiant because they are supposed to be against each other. In their interviews they talk about President Snow not caring and how it’s his fault this is happening. This is an attempt to get people to rebel.

Cinna’s act of defiance was he made Katniss’s wedding dress turn into a mockingjay. This is defiant because a mockingjay is a symbol of rebellion.

In conclusion I think that Cinna’s act was the most defiant, because the mockingjay is now a symbol of rebellion.
