Catching Fire: Defying the Capital

An act of defiant is when someone goes against authority. In the book, Catching Fire, we see many acts of defiant, or rebellion again the capital.
In Katniss’s training session she made a dummy, hung it up and put Sececa Crane’s name on it. This was defiant because, she went against the rules.
In Peeta’s private session training he printed a picture of Rue. This was defiant because, he was holding them against her death.
In their interviews the tributes blame President Snow for allowing the Quell to happen. This is defiant because, they are getting people to rebel against President Snow. At the end of the interviews they hold hands in Unity. This is defiant because, they are supposed to appear as enemies.
In Katniss’s interview, it is revealed that Cinna has transformed her wedding dress into a mockingjay. This is defiant because he creates the symbol of the rebellion.
The most defiant was Katniss because, she hung a dummy of a important person and wrote Seneca Crane’s name on it.
