Catching fire

An act of defiance is when a person goes against authority. In the book, catching fire, we see many acts of defiance or rebellion against the Capitol. Katniss hung the old game maker Seneca crane. This is defiant because it's disrespectful for the Capitol. Peseta told Ceasar that they got married already and that Katniss is pregnant. This is defiance because Peeta is trying to have the Capitol feel sorry for her because he's still making her fight. In their interviews, the tributes said that President snow didn't have that much power because If he did, He would end the games. They held hands to show that they were united. These would be considered rebellious acts because they are turning people against snow, and showing that they are not enemies. During Katniss's interview, it was revealed that cinna designed her wedding dress to burn into a mocking jay as she spun around. This was an Act of defiant because the mocking jay is the symbol of the rebellion. I feel that the one that is most defiant is Peeta's lie about Katniss being pregnant. The Capitol believes she still has to fight because if she fights she can hurt the baby and it can die.
