At the banquet it is expected to eat, puke, eat, and so on. Katniss and Peeta think its weird because people in their district barley have food to survive and people in the capitol eat until they're full and then throw it up to eat more. In contrast the capitol feel this is natural and they enjoy it. The emotional effect this creates is Katniss and Peeta now feel awkward around the capitol people.
