A conflict is a struggle between two forces.
In the book GONE there are several conflicts. One example is when Patrick gets
attacked by a mountain lion. This is an example of character vs. nature which
makes it an external conflict. I can predict that this conflict will be
resolved when Lana heals him with her powers. Another possible conflict that
could happen is that all the women that had vanished before, all come back as vampires
and werewolves. This would make the book more interesting because not only
would they have to live without adults, but they would also have to survive the
monsters.
